Samsung fans in the UAE can expect the firm’s latest Galaxy Note 3 device on Wednesday, but the Samsung Galaxy Gear, the firm’s smartwatch, is facing logistical problems and will be delayed by a few days.
The Korean firm is currently the global leader in smartphone sales and also dominates the UAE market with a 13.8 per cent share of the overall mobile market in the Emirates, according to the TRA. “When we launched the original Galaxy Note in 2011, we created a completely new smart device category. The undeniable success [has] strengthened our conviction that consumers want higher quality features on a powerful yet portable device,” said Hayssam Yassine, the head of telecommunications at Samsung Gulf Electronics.
“The Samsung Galaxy Gear frees users from the need to constantly check their smart devices while maintaining connections.”
Analysts and retailers expect both devices to sell well here in the UAE and throughout the GCC region.
