More details are emerging of Sony’s rumoured Xperia i1 phone. It will be as fast as all get out, and will take pictures so big you won’t know what to do with them.
That’s according to the Taiwanese site ePrice, which has what it claims are leaked specs and images of the new phone, which by the looks of it will replace the Xperia Z as Sony’s hero phone.
(Unless of course the Xperia Z Ultra, that 6.4-inch phone/tablet announced in June, ends up being Sony’s top phone. That thing looks pretty amazing, too, and as Samsung has proved with the Note 2, you should never underestimate the appeal of having a whopping great screen on your phone. Though 6.4 inches might be pushing it.)
Some of the specs of the Xperia i1 are to be expected. It will have a full-HD, 5-inch screen, just like the Xperia Z and half the other high-end smartphones out there. That’s 441 pixels per inch, if you couldn’t be bothered doing the maths, and there really isn’t much point to making a sharper screen than that. Almost nobody would be able to see the difference.
