A new iPhone app provides notifications to a user when spy satellites or unclassified imaging satellites are zooming above their heads and taking pictures.
Orbit Logic of Greenbelt, Md., has created the 'SpyMeSat' app that shows a dynamic map indicating orbit tracks and the location of remote sensing satellites with upcoming passes over a user's specified location.
President of Orbit Logic, Alex Herz said that the app is the firm's first app designed for everyday folks, and a product that extends the company's customer base beyond the aerospace, defense and government intelligence communities, Discovery News reports.
The SpyMeSat app uses multiple sources like orbit data from the North American Aerospace Defense Command ( NORAD) and fuses it with available public information about commercial and international imaging satellites.
