LG Electronics (LG) yesterday announced that its 4G LTE smartphone, Optimus G Pro, received the Best LTE Device/Handset Award at the LTE World Summit 2013.
The Korean giant said the award came as a recognition of the mobile phone’s “superior LTE capabilities, wide range of consumer-centric features, ease-of-use, seamless inter-device connectivity and elegant design”.
LTE (short for long-term evolution) networks are now rapidly proliferating across the world, with every new smartphone being launched today boasting of LTE connectivity. The field is now getting crowded, with Emirates 24|7 counting at least 20 devices (smartphones and phablets) that now come with LTE capabilities.
These include today’s most popular smartphones:– Apple’s iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S4, Sony Xperia Z, HTC One, BlackBerry Z10 and the Nokia Lumia 920.
The LG Optimus G Pro was ranked above all of these and other LTE smartphones at the LTE World Summit, held this year in Amsterdam from June 24-26. Now in its ninth year, the summit is widely viewed as world’s leading 4G event, and attracts the mobile industry’s key decision-makers and thought leaders.
